Lead Teachers

Job Summary

The Lead Teacher is responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive educational program that adheres to our curriculum standards. This role involves planning lessons, managing classroom activities, and fostering a positive learning environment. The Lead Teacher is also responsible for assessing student progress, collaborating with parents and colleagues, and ensuring the overall safety and well-being of the children.

Responsibilities

Lesson Planning

Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that align with our curriculum and cater to the developmental needs of the children. Use various teaching methods such as storytelling, games, and hands-on activities to promote learning in different areas like language, math, science, and social studies.

Classroom Environment

Create a nurturing, stimulating, and safe classroom environment. Arrange the classroom to include diverse learning centers (e.g., reading, art, sensory play) and provide materials that encourage exploration, creativity, and independence.

Student Progress Monitoring

Use various assessment tools and observation techniques to track the growth and development of each child. Maintain detailed records, including anecdotal notes, portfolios, and developmental checklists, to inform instruction and report progress to parents.

Parent Communication

Provide regular updates on their child's progress, address any concerns, and discuss ways to support their child's learning and development at home. Conduct parent-teacher conferences and send regular newsletters or updates.

Classroom Maintenance

Regularly clean and sanitize the classroom and materials to meet health and safety standards. Implement routines for children to help keep the classroom tidy and organized.

Positive Discipline

Use positive reinforcement and other techniques to guide children's behavior. Establish clear expectations and consistent consequences, teaching children problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.

Team Collaboration

Work closely with assistant teachers and other staff to plan and implement the curriculum. Provide guidance and support to ensure a cohesive and effective team approach.

Professional Development

Attend and participate in staff meetings and professional development sessions. Stay current with educational trends and best practices. Share knowledge and strategies with colleagues.

Compliance

Ensure compliance with all licensing and accreditation standards. Follow regulations and guidelines to maintain a high standard of care and education. Prepare for and participate in inspections and accreditation processes.
